Outlast 2 is the sequel to the popular adventure horror game with stealth elements from the developers of the Red Barrels studio. The events of the game are closely related to the mass suicide, dubbed “The Massacre at Johnstown.” This event took place in 1978 and still terrifies people. Then 914 people committed suicide. All of them were associated with the “Temple of the Nations” sect. In a recent interview with Indie Games Level Up, Red Barrels co-founder Philip Morin hinted at a possible sequel to one of the most terrifying horror games of recent years, Outlast. When creating a new game, the authors were inspired by the tragedy of 1978 that occurred in the religious community of Johnstown in the jungles of South America.
